NIN/JA Tour Diary 2- Chula Vista ~ Banged Up and Blown Away, and HRC Finally Meets Trent Reznor
It’s kinda long….but here are some before and afters videos of me talking, with SSSC, NIN, and JA footage in the middle. Photos are below.
And, I got to meet Trent in the strangest way possible- he snuck up behind me waiting to get on the same flight as me to LV using the NIN:Access app! I was posting something, and a message came through from him saying “I’m right behind you”. And I was totally confused, and was trying to figure out, when I turned around and there was Trent Reznor himself standing there with iPhone in hand, accompanied by Mariqueen and Bretty B. I’m sure the look on my face was priceless. I think I said something like “you scared me to death”- and they were laughing. He stuck out his hand, which I gladly shook, and he said, “this thing works pretty good, huh?”. Hell yeah it does! He showed me his phone and said “is that you” or something, and I said yes. Then I told him what an amazing show last night’s set was, thank you, and happy birthday…..which is pretty much everything I would want to say to my biggest idol ever! I did not get a picture as they were boarding the plane and I was in shock, but it was a pretty cool moment for me. I passed up their row on the plane and sat way in the back to respect their privacy.

When I overthrow all world governments and establish my Reich, Trent is SO in charge of my counter-intelligence Gestapo. This guy literally has millions of spies worldwide now. Though he'd probably turn against me, subversive-minded free-spirit that he is.
This is such a cool story. Thanks for sharing HRC. BTW, you going to the Shoreline show?

[...] Chula Vista – Arriving at 7am in to be the sixth person in line. I fully expected lots more people. – The mooning from a crew guy as a bus drove by – The line cutters, and using NIN:Access to rat them out to the NIN camp, where JT came out and immediately booted them. – The rabbit that ran across the amphitheater when we were about to be let in to the pit – Getting near center rail for the first time ever – Street Sweeper Social Club coming out to ‘California Love’ – The epic Trent guest appearance doing ‘Kick Out the Jams’ with SSSC – Getting the SSSC setlist – Terrible Lie had to be stopped and restarted with Trent saying, “It wouldn’t be a nine inch nail’s show without something fucking up!” – Hearing ‘Metal’ for the first time with some interesting dance moves from Trent – I’m Afraid of Americans – Seeing Jane’s for the first time – Being completely smashed in the pit up against the rail, and I’m pretty sure the guy behind me had an erection, and put his hand around my waist, but I was so packed in and tired I couldn’t do anything about it. – The TR airport incident [...]
