Hello, My name is the Hard Rock Chick, and I’m an addict

by hardrockchick [about 2 years, 9 months ago.]

It’s been 8 days since my last show, and I am going through withdrawal. Help.

I think I might fall off the wagon tomorrow…so it’ll be all good then.

U.S.S.A.

by hardrockchick [about 2 years, 9 months ago.]

So….these guys aren’t really new, but the band itself is- U.S.S.A.

About a year ago, bassist/programmer/producer Paul Barker ( ex Ministry/Revolting Cocks) and guitarist/composer Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard/Tomahawk) decided to start a new band. They got together and wrote some material, liked what they heard, and then recruited an unknown but extremely talented young vocalist/multi instrumentalist named Gary Call. They wrote some more material, liked that too, and then recruited drum wizard Johnny Rabb (clinician, author, inventor) to finish the lineup. They began rehearsing and recording in the fall of ’06 and have now finished their first album. Paul, Duane and Johnny, you should know all about by now; Gary, you want to know (though you don’t know it yet).

Pretty exciting stuff, so check them out, and if you’re local, go see them open for Chemlab tomorrow night @ Bottom of the Hill.

Filter back in action

by hardrockchick [about 2 years, 9 months ago.]

The Filter MySpace page had a little announcement today** via some weird phone message doodad from Richard Patrick. Anyway, a new Filter album in the works to be released in the Spring- the only announced participant being Rae Dileo, not to be confused as another DeLeo brother, coming on as a producer. No band members have been announced, and no telling what this means for Army of Anyone. This would be the first release since 2002.

**apparently this has been mentioned back in May, but this one seems to be a bit more official.
