It’s night one of my Noise Pop adventure, and I figured that there’s no better way to start it off than with some good ol’ American rock music. The night started off with Orchid, from here in SF, who looked and sounded like they had been teleported from 1976 Birmingham. The vocalist has a fantastic voice, and the drummer seemed to have the best skills in the group. Drumstick pieces were flying like shrapnel during the set. However, their songs don’t have enough variety and modern relevance to stand out. It felt too much like a Sabbath tribute band than anything. Filed under: Live and In The Flesh Comments: 1 Comment |

Trent posted the simple ‘2 weeks‘ on Feb. 16th, and I am now going to allow the thoughts to consume me as I count down the three days left in that. What will it be??? Filed under: Nine Inch Nails Comments: 1 Comment |

My near perfect show last time I saw VR was the only thing that saved me from a mental meltdown caused by my latest VR show. I had to work late, and I knew this, but I took the risk anyway. I read the reviews and message boards to determine that VR was going on at 9:30 or 9:45 everywhere else, and I thought I could make it there by 9:45. I knew there wasn’t an opener, but I had calculated my risk. And I lost. They went on at 8:45, and played a shorter set then normal. I got to hear 4 songs. Set Me Free, Mr. Brownstone, Sex Type Thing, and Slither. Filed under: Live and In The Flesh Comments: 1 Comment |
