I have to say I feel lucky to have seen these two shows in the order I did. The first was fantastic production but VERY professional (if that's the right word). The crowd was pretty calm and appreciative (if you call throwing water on stage appreciative) and Manson was theatrical and kind of ... perfect. He could have shot a video. I loved having the opportunity to stand so close to the stage without having to shove my elbow into anyone's neck. Plus Manson gave us lots of love on our side.

This time, he was more the whacked out rockstar I was expecting as whirled around stage with various expletives and disrobing. This time I spent half my energy just to stay on my feet (a game I haven't done since I was 21) and had a f

I missed the Concord show because I was dizzy and horking (stomach flu) and I didn't want to be more than 10 feet from a bathroom.

Nice review. I would have enjoyed that setlist, although I would have of course preferred Slayer as an opening act.

Yeah, I saw Manson at both Concord & the Warfield. I had pretty much the same reaction, just mesmerized by the theatrics at the first show. My sister is the major fan, she cried through the first song. (Her make up was still better than most of the people in the crowd. damn goths.)

This time I thought that the crowd was a bunch of assholes, but getting that close to Manson made it worth it. The bubble-snow during Coma White made my night.

I actually didn't know that Jeordie was back until I saw him on stage, so pleasant surprise there.

Plus a note on NIN: the first concert I ever went to was NIN plus Autolux at the civic auditorium in Santa Cruz, back in 2005. It was a small venue, and a crowd of about 200. Pretty awe-inspiring.
