I like music. I think I’ve always liked it. I really like it when it’s live. I grew up in Texas, on a steady diet of Willie Nelson and George Strait. Until I discovered Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Nine Inch Nails, Pantera, and Depeche Mode. I held on to Willie though. My first live music experiences took place at rodeos. Then I went to my first real show at age 14, where I got knocked over in a ‘mosh pit’ at Bush and never looked back. I played guitar for a bit, but was never any good. I can’t sing. But I can dance. I’ve steadily increased my live music diet over the years. Living in SF has its benefits. Texas was skipped by most of my favorite artists, or they all died before I was allowed to go to shows. And in my prime college years, we were going through this wretched thing called ‘boy bands’ and ‘nu-metal’. So I’m making up for lost time. I went to 50-something shows in the last 12 months. I’m broke, but my ears still work. Please click on an ad. I have a bachelor’s in psychology, a master’s in advertising, and a Ph. D. in live music. If you see me at a show, come say hi. I won’t bite unless you are taller than me and stand in front of me. Or you are that annoying drunk chick. I write about my shows to document the memories and share them with those who care. I try to capture what it was like to be there, not necessarily what the performance was like. I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures. I really like comments, so please make one. Otherwise I feel like I’m writing to a wall. Filed under: Uncategorized Comments:
