Nice article on The Gray Kid. But, I don’t know when Andre 3000 got downgraded to Andre 2000. Read my Gray Kid reviews here. Filed under: Rock in the News Comments: None |

This makes me feel weird. Tommy Lee, ok. Paris, duh. Vince Neil, no thanks. Hendrix? I know he was plaster casted- but seriously. Filed under: Rock in the News Comments: None |

Motley Crue will become the first band to debut a song through Rock Band this week. The single, ‘Saints of Los Angeles’, will be featured on the album coming out later this summer. I’ve been know to make my occasional anti-emo joke. But some Mexican kids anti-emo sentiments are coming to blows. It seems that fights between the punks and the emo kids are breaking out on a large scale in Mexico. Unfortunately, it appears that, rather than attacking their bad taste in music, they are attacking their sexuality. In Mexico, boys wearing makeup must still be attributed to homosexuality rather than a style dictated by the music. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Seriously? A remix site. If Celebrity Deathmatch were still on, this would be a great pairing. Radiohead, however, makes you pay for the individual files. And now The Raconteurs how somewhat jumped into the mix with the spontaneous release of their latest album. Interesting times. Keep one-upping each other, kids. In a unique leveraging of events, Dr. Pepper has announced that it will give a free Dr. Pepper to everyone in America- excluding the band members involved in the album (which includes Slash and Buckethead)- if Chinese Democracy is released in 2008. Axl replied that he’s ‘happy to have the support of Dr. Pepper’. So, you might either be able to enjoy what will probably be a very ’90’s sounding album with a very ’90’s drink sometime in the next 9 months. Don’t hold your breath. I’m watching American Idol. Hey, don’t hate- chalk it up to my consuming all things music. I watched the first season, then bailed when it became this ridiculous phenomenon. I also came to the realization that I would never buy any of the people on the show’s albums, or go to any of their shows. Blame the writer’s strike for bringing me back after all these years. But what’s kept me watching is the fact that 4 contestants on the show- 1 now is gone- are people who I might actually listen to one day. Yes, I know, I was shocked, too. It’s been confirmed, Velvet Revolver is over. It was inevitable, as with Audioslave, that the established singer joining an established band formula is only to be a short lived burst of awesomeness. After the magical show they gave last year, they downward spiral started with the aborted Sundance performance, Weiland’s jive talk at the last show I saw of theirs, a Weiland rehab stint, the STP reunion announcement, and some Sorum/Weiland riffs during their European tour. Read the parting statements here. Fans are already suggesting that Chris Cornell step in… Filed under: Rock in the News Comments: 1 Comment |
