Please let this be true. Aversion.com reports that The Faint will be remixing an undisclosed song from Year Zero. They are thinking that this might turn up on the Capital G remix CD that T-Rez has hinted at. Once again, please let this be true.

D-TV

In 1984, to compete with MTV, Disney created a series of cartoon videos to popular songs. I absolutely loved them. At the same time, it freaks me out the Disney’s crazy way of dealing with MTV introduced me to such great songs as ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ and ‘We Are Family’. These were quite […]

myspace find: giant squid

So I’m a little partial to Austin bands. I’m even more partial to Austin bands that move to the Bay Area. Giant Squid fits into this category. Their music is pretty heavy while still being indie rock–some of the vocals borderline on the metal scream, but, as you know, I like this. Their use of […]

fantasy schedule: ACL

ACL, tsk tsk. You do an almost great job. Hot sun, local vendors, sweet bands….and then you go and screw it all up when you make a schedule where bands with similar fans play conflicting sets. I am sure glad I’m not going….I’d have to tear myself in two and scream at you. But if […]

flight of the conchords

Flight of the Conchords is the new bit of brilliantness showing on HBO. The half hour comedy follows 2 guys in a “digi-folk” band from New Zealand. They’ve relocated to New York to try to ‘make it’. A hipster version of Tenacious D, perhaps, would be the best way to describe it. Here’s a taste. […]

Record Recap: Marilyn Manson's Eat Me, Drink Me

Manson’s 6th studio album, Eat Me, Drink Me, is one of his best. Mr. Shock Rocker has matured from being an overtly outrageous spectacle with polarizing thematic elements, to songs that encapsulate the dark places that exist in everyone (almost). While many reviews have slammed this album for not being the typical Manson work, I […]
